Don’t panic…
We are experiencing a lot of phone calls with worry about the contest; apparently, YouTube is shutting parts of their system down because of a virus that is going around on the Internet, which is supposed to spread like wildfire today (April Fool’s Day).
We want to address this issue, and are extending the video upload deadline one final week, to give you time to recover from the delays that this virus is causing around the world. This doesn’t mean your computer will become infected; it’s just YouTube’s way of helping ensure the virus doesn’t spread via their video system when people who ARE infected upload their videos.
New Final Round Video Upload Deadline: April 10th, 2009
New Judging Date: April 15th (That’s right – Tax day!)

Camp La Jolla Announces $15,000 Sizzling Summer Fitness Vacation Sweepstakes on YouTube.
La Jolla, CA (MarketWire) January 16, 2009 – Camp La Jolla, the #1 weight loss camp for kids, teens and adults, has launched a fun and exciting video contest on YouTube! One three week women’s fitness vacation and one four week teen/preteen fitness vacation will be awarded to two lucky winners who use humor and creativity to depict a healthy lifestyle at the beach with non human characters. The winners may use the prize themselves, or gift the prize to a friend.

To enter the contest, contestants must register at www.camplajolla.com/sweepstakes and record a 15-90 second video with the following items appearing in the video: water, sand, a palm tree, and the phrase “Camp La Jolla’s Sizzling Summer Fitness Vacation Sweepstakes”. Once the videos have been uploaded to YouTube, contestants then email the link to camp@camplajolla.com.
The first round of the contest ends on February 13, 2009 and eight semifinalists will be announced February 18, 2009. The second and final round ends on March 6, 2009 and the two winners will be announced March 11, 2009. Winners will be selected based on creativity, communication of the theme “A Healthy Lifestyle At The Beach”, and overall YouTube votes. Contestants are encouraged to promote their videos to increase their chances of becoming a semifinalist.
